eGovernment Excellence Award 2023 organizing committee to Hold Virtual Workshops for Participants

In preparation for the 2023 eGovernment Excellence Award, the Organizing Committee announced virtual discussion session familiarize participants with the entry process. Ministries, public entities, private organization, civil societies, and individuals can take part in the workshop, scheduled to take place on 15th and 16th August 2023 via video conference (Microsoft Teams).

Held under the patronage of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communications (MCICT), His Excellency Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the award is an important initiative aimed at promoting excellence and innovation in Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The initiative has had a significant impact on the ICT sphere, encouraging digital projects from previous editions to compete against in regional and global technology platforms and helping the Kingdom secure major accolades and bolster its international standing.

The teams virtual workshop will shed light on registration process and criteria noting the improvements introduced this year, that include the merging of the public and private sectors categories to further strengthen competition and promote quality, and the introduction of new categories. Private and public sector participants will compete in categories such as ‘Best Website’, ‘Best Practice in eParticipation’, ‘Best Integrated eServices’, ‘Best Application for Smart Devices’, ‘Best Work Environment for Digital Innovation’, ‘Best Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI)’, and ‘Best Project for Digital Transformation’. Additionally, individuals can compete in the ‘Best Digital Initiative’ category. Participants in the sessions will also have the chance to submit questions and offer their insights.

Participants can register by emailing egovaward@iga.gov.bh and specifying their preferred dates. The Arabic session will be held on the 15th August, and the English session will be held on the 16th August, Both workshops will be from 11am to 12pm. Invitations will be extended to participants to confirm their places in the workshop.
