Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain – 8 th April, 2013 - On Monday morning, H.H. Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology (SCICT), inaugurated Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2013 in its sixth edition at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel & Spa. The forum is organized by the eGovernment Authority (eGA) in cooperation with Bahrain Internet Society and the Project Management Institute (Arabian Gulf).
His Highness also honored the winning projects in the eGovernment Excellence Award 2013 at the end of the ceremony. Within the Government Sector; winners included the Ministry of Finance for ‘Best eContent Award’ given to their website (http://www.mof.gov.bh); Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning for ‘Best eService Award’ on their Issuance of Building Permits eService; Ministry of Social Development for ‘Best eProject Award’ given on their NGO System; and Ministry of Works for eMaturity Award.
Within the Multi Sector; winners included Bahrain Business Machines for ‘Best ICT Solutions Provider Award’; Ministry of Works for ‘eEconomy Award’; Aluminum Bahrain (ALBA) for ‘eEconomy Award’; Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC) for ‘eEducation Award’; and Bahrain Deaf Society for ‘eNGO Award’.
Within the Citizens Sector; winners included Yousif Mohammed Al Ghawas for ‘Best eConcept Award’ given to his Tourism Application; Haya Hassan Al-Doseri for ‘Best eConcept Award’ given to her Smart Road Information System; AbdulHussein Khidhir Gholoum Ahmed for ‘eCitizen Award’ given to having the highest volume of transactions through the eGovernment portal in one year; along with AbdulAziz Ahmed AbdulAziz Bu Haji for ‘eCitizen Award’ for having the highest number of transactions through the eGovernment portal in one year.
